John Hopkins University is a private higher educational establishment located in Baltimore, Maryland. The university received its name to honor the main benefactor of its creation, an American businessman and philanthropist John Hopkins. The place was founded in 1876 and has been a leading Maryland university since then.  The institution consists of nine separate academic divisions that form a unified educational system with great history and potential.
