How to Apply
All Steps of the Application Process
You are required to upload the copies of the transcripts while filling the online application form in. You must provide Stanford business School with the official transcript(s) only after you have been admitted. Any discrepancy between your unofficial and official transcripts could result in the withdrawal of your offer of admission.
All applicants must submit a valid GMAT or GRE score. Stanford business School accepts both exams and have no preference for one over the other. In response to the pandemic there is an option to apply online GMAT and GRE test scores are valid for five years from the date you take the test.
All the applicants are required to submit an English language proficiency score as part of the application process, if they haven't had a degree from a college or university that provided instruction entirely in English. So you are supposed to provide the admission committee with your TOEFL or IELTS test results. Stanford business School will accept the online test results due to the pandemic of COVID-19. The most important thing is that your test must be valid. If you are uncertain whether an English-language test is required, you may wish to take it as it might strengthen your candidacy.
You are required to write two essays for the application. Both essays combined may not exceed 1,050 words. We recommend up to 650 words for Essay A and up to 400 words for Essay B. We often find effective essays that are written in fewer words. The topic for Essay A: What matters most to you, and why? And the topic for the Essay B: Why Stanford?
You must provide the admissions committee with two recommendation letters. The first one is from your current direct supervisor (or next best alternative) at work and the other one is from someone else who has supervised your work. You must not have any involvement in the drafting, writing, translation, or submission of the letters, including having any outside party review the letters before they are submitted.
The Stanford MBA Program application fee is $275 and is nonrefundable. You can pay the application fee by credit card, e-check, or debit card while in the online application.
After submitting your application you may be invited to have an interview. It might help the admission committee to learn more about you and, also, it might help you to find out more about Stanford.
You won’t be provided with the feedback during, or after, the interview.
